FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do I need for Tuning?
We tune using HP Tuners ONLY for OEM PCM’s. In order for the process to smoothly, the equipment you will need is as follows: HP Tuners MPVI 2 or 2+ Interface. You will need a windows capable laptop. Download the HP Tuners software, Download Here Credits – Typically Engine (PCM) tuning requires 2 credits, 2014+ Dodge vehicles equipped with ZF8 transmissions require an additional 4 if TCM tuning is purchased. For more info on other applications please visit here. For 2015+ Dodge vehicles, you will need your PCM unlocked For 2018+ Dodge vehicles, you will need a Security Gateway Bypass, as well as internet access. IMPORTANT: We will need datalogging done on your end to complete tuning unless we are doing a load and go file. You as the customer are expected to datalog your vehicle with the thorough instructions provided to you. Without datalogging, we cannot complete the tune process for your vehicle as there is no way around this. We currently cannot bench flash the PCMs, or mail them to you already tuned. This is something that is currently in the works and hope to have this type of support in the near future. The remote tuning process is a time consuming and unique process to every customer. Some vehicles may only take one or two revisions while others may takes many more. You will be required to drive the vehicle and log it in different conditions, including but not limited to, wide open throttle. When asked for pulls, we are very specific with our instructions, and need those instructions followed precisely. Do not go rogue with your pulls if we are not asking for it. Only make one pull unless otherwise requested. If you do not follow the instructions as given, there is a possibility you can hurt the vehicle. We know by the datalogs you send what you are doing to the car, so please follow all instructions to the best of your ability. If you need assistance, please reach out to us. Customers MUST have a wideband (Air/Fuel) gauge if injectors are not stock, if an aftermarket power adder has been installed, and if any fuel system modifications have been done. NO ACCEPTIONS!! other than mildly modified Hellcats and modern Ford 5.0 platforms.
  • What kind of response/turnaround time should I expect?
Our business hours are Mon-Fri 8 AM to 6 PM EST. We do not work weekends or evenings. Our typical response time if you do not have an appointment is 24-48hrs on normal business days. If you email Friday afternoon it may be Tuesday or Wednesday before you receive a response depending on the work load. We strive to have as fast of response times as possible but we can not guarantee responses any quicker, especially during our busy season. We apologize if this turnaround isn’t satisfactory for you, we want to make sure we set expectations upfront for all of our potential and current customers. If this doesn’t work for what your needs are, we understand and encourage you to seek out other options
  • Do you lock your tune files?
This is something we debated on, but for the time being, YES. We lock our tune files. We have thousands of hours of R&D to develop the intricate understanding of the platform that we have today. You will not be able to edit the tune files that we send you. This is nothing personal, we simply are protecting our business / intellectual knowledge.
  • I’ve added parts since last time it was tuned, do I need a new tune or revision?
Yes, please reach out to us and we can get you a revised file after your invoice is paid. You will need to fill out an additional tuning form for the new modifications to the car. Please fill out the form to the best of your ability. Revisions can vary in price depending on how much tuning work is involved, for example, adding longtube headers will not cost as much as new cam or fuel system.
  • I plan on using E85, do I need to test the fuel?
Yes, if your vehicle is being tuned on e85 you need to have a way to test the alcohol content. Alcohol content can vary greatly across the country and depending on the time of year especially when winter blends are implemented. If you own a vehicle that is going to run on E85, we strongly encourage you to purchase an Ethanol Content gauge to have in the vehicle or, at a minimum, a tester and regularly test your fuel to ensure the safety of your engine.
  • What if I have a mechanical issue?
Since we did not install the parts on your vehicle, we cannot assist you in diagnosing your mechanical issues at no charge. The service that you have paid us for is calibrating (tuning) your vehicle and not diagnosing and fixing mechanical problems. If we get into tuning your vehicle and there is a mechanical issue, we can assist in diagnosing it but reserve the right to charge a fee of $75-150/hr for said service depending on the time and complexity. Since many times we run into situations where we believe the vehicle has a mechanical issue but the customer believes it is calibration related, we will refund any diagnostic fees if we find the issue to be a calibration related problem. If you purchased your parts through us, we will assist as much as possible in diagnosing any mechanical issue with the parts.
  • Do you Build cars in house?
We currently do not do any installs. We only offer tuning, parts and build design.
